The NBA has suspended its current season indefinitely due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The announcement was made on Wednesday (Thursday in the Philippines).

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder players are under quarantine in Oklahoma City after Rudy Gobert, a player for the Jazz, tested positive for the coronavirus.

Gobert made it a point to touch all microphones and recording equipment in the media room on purpose as a “joke” during a press conference on Monday (Tuesday in the Philippines).

Two days after, Gobert tested positive for COVID-19.

Gobert was tested for COVID-19 after testing negative for influenza, strep throat, and upper respiratory infection, according to a statement from Utah Jazz.

Gobert’s positive result came right before the tip-off of the Utah Jazz-Oklahoma City game. Due to this, the game was abruptly postponed, and players from both teams are now quarantined in the Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City.
