WATCH: Moira Dela Torre Changes Lyrics for “Malaya,” Calls It Her “10-Minute Version”

In commemoration of Philippine Independence Day, Moira Dela Torre treated her fans to a newer version of her song “Malaya,” a song about letting someone go no matter how much it hurts.

On Moira’s Instagram and Tiktok, she posted a one-minute video of herself performing the song as she greeted everyone a “happy malaya (freedom) day.” She also wrote in the caption of the video that it was her “10-minute version” of the song, in reference to Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” which has its own 10-minute-long rendition, as she notably tweaked some of the lyrics to encapsulate what she is currently going through.

This comes a couple of weeks after Moira released a joint statement with her ex-husband of three years, Jason Hernandez, announcing their break up following the latter’s infidelity. Moira then posted another statement denouncing the rumors that she had also cheated on Jason during their relationship. The young singer then had a guest appearance on “Magandang Buhay” to open up about her separation. Though she feels like “broken glass” during this difficult journey, as she told the “Magandang Buhay” hosts, she said she remains hopeful that God will make her “feel whole again” in time.
