Margie Moran's Face When She Realized She Was Miss Universe

Pia Wurtzbach is the third Filipina to become Miss Universe since the pageant started in 1952. Before there was Wurtzbach, there was Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran. Diaz made history in 1969 for becoming the first Filipina to win the title, followed by Moran in 1973.

Diaz was known for her simple but meaningful answer to the question “In the next day or so, a man will land on the moon. If a man from the moon landed in your hometown, what would you do to entertain him?” She answered, “Oh, just the same things I do. I think if he has been on the moon for so long, I think when he comes over he wants to change, I guess.”

Moran’s question and answer portion wasn’t as memorable (she was asked, “If you had one million dollars what would you do with it?”, she answered “I would buy a big house where I can live with all the people I love.”), but she is making the rounds online for her reaction when she found out she was Miss Universe.

Apparently, while the host was talking about the title, Moran was able to peek at the card he was holding with the name of the winner. Her reaction after was priceless. We at WhenInManila.com can’t read minds, but it looks like she thought, “Ha! I got this.”
