Julia Barretto was all smiles when she was handed the bridal bouquet at former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Joe Vargas and his wife Bianca Yanga’s wedding during the bouquet toss.
In a video shared by Bianca, all her bridesmaids lined up in preparation to catch the bouquet which the bride traditionally throws over her shoulders. Whoever catches the flowers is supposedly the next one to be married.
The video showed Julia, together with Gabbi Garcia, Ria Atayde, Chie Filomeno, and Daniel Padilla’s sister Magui Ford Planas, gamely ready to catch the bouquet. But in a sudden twist of events, Bianca turned around just as she was about to toss the flowers and handed it directly to Julia instead.

Gerald, who was watching the scene unfold over to the side with the other groomsmen, was then caught on video smiling and nodding, as if approving the surprise. After all, as Bianca had revealed in the caption of her post, it was his idea all along.
“GUESS WHO’S NEXT??? Tagging you [Gerald], sinunod ko ang gusto mo! (I followed your wish!)” she said.
Gerald merely left heart emojis in the comments in reply to her tag.
It can be recalled that Julia went on record to say that she is ready to say “yes” to her boyfriend if ever he proposes to her soon. In an interview last May 2022 with host Boy Abunda on his Youtube channel, she admitted that she isn’t scared to get married at her age and that she’s actually excited about it. (The Youtube video has since been taken down.) She also said in her own vlog in April that she is ready to have a family in the next five years and that she’s willing to leave showbiz to live a “normal life.”

Julia and Gerald went public with their relationship in March 2021 after months of speculations and controversy. At the time, Gerald said he was “very happy” with where he was at life.
