It isn’t any secret that poverty is quite common in the Philippines.
In fact, wherever you go, you will probably come across several beggars and street children begging for money.
In the past, we have heard Gawad Kalinga’s founder Antonio Meloto share his clear vision in answering how to lessen poverty in the Philippines (read more about his vision here). Well, this time, The Global Filipino Investors (TGFI) have interviewed 12 Filipinos and asked them their solution to lessen the poverty in the Philippines.

Poverty is never solved by charity.
“Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.”
Give the poor a million pesos (that you worked for and earned for your family) and they’ll SPEND IT ALL and ASK YOU FOR MORE.
TEACH all of the Poor to EARN their OWN millions (by getting better careers, starting their own businesses, and investing) and nobody will ever have to suffer from poverty and lack.

I agree, financial education is no longer a taboo in our country but still a lot of Filipinos never change their mentality towards a more meaningful life that’s why they never accepted financial education as a true solution but instead they used the same mindset that created the problem in the first place. Let’s change the way we think and I assure you, the solution to poverty is just around the corner.
“Problems cannot be solved with the same mind set that created them.” – Albert Einstein
instead of building malls….build factories instead so people will stay out of the streets doing nothing…let them have a job and be productive. Then you’ll see less of these tricycles or pedicabs roaming the streets too !
Jobs. Jobs are key to getting rid of the poverty in the Philippines. And why aren’t there charities to help people in need? I know some Filipinos that have no money or jobs and there is not help for them.
