WATCH: Here’s Your First Look at the Live Broadway Recording of ‘Hamilton’

In case you missed it, Hamil-fam, the live Broadway recording of the award-winning musical Hamilton is finally going to be streamed online next month!

It was back in May when creator and lead star Lin-Manuel Miranda dropped the announcement which came in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has kept people at home and affected their livelihoods, most especially of those who worked in the entertainment industry.

And today, June 22, the official trailer for the recorded show has been released. Watch it below!

The film, which was recorded live on stage at the Richard Rodgers Theater with the original Broadway cast, was initially scheduled to have a theatrical release in October 2021. It will now be streamed exclusively on Disney Plus this July 3, 2020.

Hamilton the Musical has become a pop culture phenomenon within the five years since it premiered on the Broadway stage. It went on to be the 7th highest-grossing Broadway musical since 1982, selling out most of its shows for its entire run.

It follows the story of Alexander Hamilton, an American-immigrant Founding Father, told through hip-hop, R&B, and traditional show tunes music. The original cast includes Lin-Manuel as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Jonathan Groff as King George III, and Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson.
