The national elections are only a few weeks away, and candidates are scrambling for the electorate’s votes, either by lifting themselves up or putting others down. But for presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte, his concern is electoral fraud.
In a video released by Mocha Uson on Facebook, the Davao City mayor is urging his supporters to guard the ballots during the elections. He said:
“Ako po’y nananawagan sa lahat ng aking supporters, at iyong naniniwala sa akin, at yung may simpatiya maski konti sakin, kung sakali pong hindi ako makarating sa inyo at makausap kayo, tulungan niyo na lang ho ako to guard my ballot, my vote, during the critical hours of the counting and canvassing of the ballots. Wala talaga akong pera, I cannot give you, but if you believe in your country, this is your investment, para investment na lang ho sa bayan ninyo.”
(“I am asking for my supporters’ help, for those who believe in me, for those who sympathize with me, no matter how little, in case I can’t meet you, please help me guard my ballot, my vote, during the critical hours of the counting and canvassing of the ballots. I have no money. I cannot give you, but if you believe in your country, this is your investment for the country.”)
