Pinoy music artist Paolo Sandejas has something new in his career to take pride in—and it’s one thing he didn’t ever expect.
The singer-songwriter became a trending topic among Filipino ARMYs online after his song, “Sorry,” had been featured in BTS member V’s “drive vlog” playlist that was uploaded last July 9, just in time for ARMY Day.
The video, which runs for almost one hour, is the first episode of the Kpop band’s vlog series for their BANGTAN TV YouTube channel. Not only did V include Paolo’s song in his playlist but it seems that he knows it well too, jamming along to the tune and singing the lyrics as he drove his car.
As of writing, the vlog has garnered over 9.7 million views.
Even Paolo couldn’t believe that the BTS member listened to his song and he proceeded to express his elation and gratitude on his Twitter account.
“HOLY F***ING SH**,” he wrote as his first reaction to the news. “[What the hell] is happening [right now]…”
He later thanked all the Filipino ARMYs and his fans for the support. “Tonight has been insane! Thank you all so much for all the love you guys have been showing for my music. To the Filo Army, you guys are amazing. Happy #ARMYDAY,” he said.

In a separate statement, Paolo called it a “surreal experience” to have reached the radar of one of the most successful Korean music artists to date. “The fact that one of the biggest artists in the world knows my name AND listens to my songs is insane to me! This is a surreal experience, and I have no words to express how honored I am that he enjoys a song I worked so hard on,” he shared.
Watch the vlog below (around the 26-minute mark):
“Sorry” is part of Paolo’s 2020 “Purple Afternoon” EP and talks about a failed relationship. He recently made headlines also for becoming the only Filipino artist chosen to perform at the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan last June 26.
