In case you haven’t heard, Blueโs Clues and Youย host Josh is going back to his Filipino roots!
The rebooted childrenโs series will be introducing audiences to Joshโs Filipino grandmother in an all-new episode, titled โBlueโs Big Baking Show,โ which will also be introducing to kids all around the world a much-loved local delicacy: the bibingka!
The episode will follow Josh and Blue seeking help from hisย lolaย (grandmother) to create the Filipino rice cake from scratch. It is set to premiere on November 20, 11 AM ET (November 21, 12 AM Manila time), but we’ve got our first look at it thanks to a teaser clip we found on Twitter.
“We have an entire generation of American kids being exposed to a Filipino dude on TV, doing the โMano poโ to his Lola, & making bibingka. My kids are seeing their lives on TV,” wrote clinical psychologist, author, and professor E.J. Ramos David, Ph.D.
The video shows Josh (Joshua Dela Cruz) welcoming his lolaย (Carolyn Fe) to his home and doing the “mano po,” which is a Filipino gesture of respect for elders.
