‘La La Land’ has been a hit amongst people on my Facebook Timeline this month – and rightfully so. The movie was beautifully made and the story was very relatable for those hoping to pursue their dreams. In fact, after the movie came out, so many people that I know wrote about their own personal stories relating to the movie – and they were incredibly inspiring.
Carl Lim actually reached out to When in Manila to share a video of his friend Steph singing a cover of ‘City of Stars’ from the movie. “I admire her story so much because it is very very similar to ‘La La Land‘,” he says. ” Because of this, she was inspired to make a cover of it, and I hope you can feature her!”

According to Steph’s video caption, ‘La La Land’ is, so far, THE BEST FILM that has ever entered her life. “It touched my heart so much,” she gushes. “I just felt all the emotions of Mia and Sebastian. So, I decided to cover this wonderful song from the film […] It’s a happy/sad song about dreaming and loving.”
