Just in time before Buwan ng Wika comes to a close!
The Filipino language has become so pervasive thanks to the many overseas workers and immigrants around the world, that we have some choice words that have made it to the Oxford dictionary!
And just before Buwan ng Wika ends, the US Embassy has released this video of Americans guessing the meaning of some Filipino words!
Those in the video were asked to guess various words such as kuya, tabo, pulutan, and barkada, among others!
One guy came pretty close to the “tabo” definition, but everything else was just a tad off, such as describing “pulutan” as a way to address older women! But most definitely, A++ for effort.
