Want to Learn Korean? Let BTS Teach You!

BTS

In case you’re looking to pick up a skill during the enhanced community quarantine, why not learn a new language? If you’re a fan of K-Pop, BTS in particular, you can now watch language tutorials taught by members of the hit boy band.

According to Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’ label, “With the recent popularity of K-pop and other Korean cultural contents, the demand for learning Korean is increasing greatly. We are planning Korean education contents to improve our accessibility. We hope that through learning Korean, global fans will be able to deeply empathize with the music of artists and enjoy a wide range of contents.”

It added that it hopes to “make it easy and fun for global fans who have difficulty enjoying BTS’ music and contents due to the language barrier.”

Each video will be three minutes long and will focus on Korean grammar and expressions, especially the ones used frequently by BTS.

To make it even more special, professors and researchers at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Korea Language Contents Institute helped create the content.

The first three episodes were released on March 24, and future episodes will be uploaded every Monday at 9PM KST (8PM in the Philippines). The episodes are free to watch for members of Weverse, Big Hit Entertainment’s fan-community app.
