Everyone raced in excitement when the red lights went off to commence the beginning of Heat 1. During the race, I really couldn’t tell who the palpable lead was as all of the racers aimed for number 1, each catching up one way or another.
In the end, Jason Choachuy claimed victory for the first heat of the race.
Here are snippets from Heat 1:
A performance by Urbandub followed right after Heat 1. Cars, beautiful women, and a concert – what more could one ask for?
There were lots of other fun-filled activities in-between heats, as well. Aside from the tracking competition, both children and adults got to enjoy a Car Show, Racing Simulators, and Kinect, all of which were available at the event venue.
Racers expected a wet race during Heat 1, but the rain didn’t pour until Heat 2. Before the competition began, what seemed like an endless pour of rain surprised the racers. They remained static on track for more than 30 minutes waiting for the rain to stop or at least mellow down. But as they say, the show must go on.
Heat 2 was more intense than the first as the racers were literally wet and wild. One of the highlights of Heat 2 was an astounding move by Dominic Ochoa as he raced from the 8th position to the 3rd. He showed persistence and perseverance despite the weather condition. My heart stopped at every turn and every corner as the cars sped through wet grounds. Seeing cars go around 360 degrees, for about 3-5 times was nerve wrecking! Thankfully, everyone finished the competition in one piece, with no injuries whatsoever. The competition ended with Jason Choachuy claiming victory once again.
This was definitely one for the books! I am really considering turning motorsport into a hobby now.
