Shortly after People’s Champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao made his controversial statements on same-sex marriage, where he referred to those from the LGBT sector and compared them to animals, several personalities have spoken out on the issue. One of the celebrities that became the most vocal is Vice Ganda.
The popular comedian lambasted Pacquiao, alluding to the latter’s alleged adultery in the past, as well as his excessive absences and lack of bills passed in Congress.
After Vice Ganda reacted to the issue, while some netizens sided with the comedian, others were quick to defend the Pinoy boxing icon, referring to a previous incident when Vice Ganda had come under fire for a supposedly offensive joke he made about rape, even using journalist Jessica Soho as a reference.
This backlash quickly reached the ears of the comedian, who was quick to post a response via Twitter:

See coming from his mouth… If u think everyone is sinful then you should accept what manny’s opinion is. And not cry like baby over television and ask for sympathy from others.. You attacked a man of God and look how it backfired to you… He just voiced out God’s words n people like wanted to kill him. Im not against n pro gay, but I’d rather stand brside a man of God. And i know whenever i ask for forgiveness from God for my sins He will forgive me. How about you VG??? Do u even ask God for forgiveness n change your ways? Especially mocking people just so you can be famous woth ur below-the-belt jokes. Id rather listen to the wors of God over n over again than listen to ur mocking jokes.

First what Manny said wasn’t joke. It was a fact confirmed from the Bible. Manny wasn’t obviously joking when he said the truth about God’s view on LGBT. Second, nobody can claim that a person has obeyed all of God’s commandment from the Bible but that doesn’t justify us in God’s sight if we don’t obey it. If we have known the truth and still disobey, we will be judged accordingly. It is very clear from the Bible what is God’s on the issue at hand and any refusal to confirm to it, God will judge. Thirdly, it isn’t true that mr. Jose isn’t the issue. The fact that he is part of the LGBT, he is part of the issue. That is why he reacted together with some if the affected celebrities. Don’t try to evade the issue Mr. Jose.
Vice ganda is a comedian performing a COMEDY ACT when he uttered that joke about Jessica Soho. Pacquiao is a public servant and a senatorial candidate and everything he utters should be taken seriously. Vice Ganda may have offended one person. Pacquiao offended a community.
