Veteran Journalist Twink Macaraig Passes Away

After a battle with cancer, veteran journalist Twink Macaraig passes away.

The news was announced by ANC, where Twink is a former anchor on the show Dateline Philippines and former co-host of The Brew with Nadia Trinidad and Gang Badoy.

She was also the Filipino bureau chief of Channel News Asia, and a part-time faculty member and lecturer at the College of Mass Communication at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

In April 2019, the journalist shared her experience with cancer in a column for the Philippine Star, where she wrote, “I’ve long made peace with my demise. My last will and testament — handwritten amidst many tears — is in the safe. I could Give Up. Succumb. Surrender. But I won’t. While the very heart of me — that chamber that stores my conscience and conviction, love and dreams, memory and self-respect — remains unbreached, I will fight.”

WheninManila.com sends its condolences to the Macaraig family, as well as to her husband Paulo Alcazaren and their son.
