After the successful stint of the movie Venom, it was quite expected that a sequel would be coming.
Variety confirms this and also adds that Kelly Marcel, one of the three screenwriters on the first installment, will be part of the next film.
However, there is no information yet on what exactly the sequel will entail.
Still, speculations point to having something to do with Eddie Brock/Venom (Tom Hardy) showing down with Cletus Kasady/Carnage (Woody Harrelson) as teased by the first movie’s mid-credit scene. Additionally, Michelle Williams is expected to return. She played Eddie’s former fiancée.
Meanwhile, director Ruben Fleischer is still a wild card. Variety says a new director is likely to come on board.
