Valenzuela Frontliners Test Positive for COVID-19

This weekend, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian shared that at least 10 frontliners in Valenzuela City have tested positive for COVID-19 after taking part in Valenzuela’s mass testing program.

In his tweet, Gatchalian shared the ‘disturbing news’, saying: “We found out that 10 members of our Valenzuela frontliners tested positive under our mass testing program. All are asymptomatic. Kung hindi namin sila na test, hindi namin alam na positive sila. [If we hadn’t tested them, we wouldn’t know that they are positive for COVID-19.] There are probably more out there roaming around under the MECQ.”

Rex Gatchalian, Sherwin Gatchalian’s brother and Valenzuela’s current chief executive, said that the frontliners have since been isolated and are currently under medical treatment. He also assures that residents shouldn’t worry about more cases as they are getting more aggressive in their testing efforts. They are conducting an average of 275 tests per day as of the moment.
