VIA, or Valentine’s in August, is the organization’s yearly flagship project that promotes love and compassion to the community, while alleviating a problem that contributes to further economic reforms in a sector it intends to help. Previously, it created an artificial demand for flowers to aid the floral industry at the time of year when demand is lowest. This event has become a well awaited tradition in the university, and is embedded as a treasured piece of the Atenean culture.
Now a public event this year, AEA will be launching VIA: Cares, a care package fundraiser that aims to foster the same emotions as the latter VIA events. Partnering up with social enterprise for a cause, we aim to give back as much to the community most especially to our chosen beneficiary, the jeepney drivers.
