US is first country to have 2,000+ COVID-19 deaths in one day -Johns Hopkins

The United States recorded 2,108 fatalities in 24 hours on Friday, April 10, according to the Johns Hopkins University tracker. It is the first country to have more than 2,000 COVID-19 fatalities in a single day.

As of posting, America now has 18,586 deaths and is closing in on the toll of 18,849 fatalities in Italy, which has seen the biggest mortality so far in the global pandemic.

The US is also approaching half a million confirmed cases of COVID-19.
