I was even more excited to taste the next dish, the Croc Cossbone Steak. Soaked in thick, creamy gravy, it is a perfectly guilt-free alternative to pork and beef steak. It is even healthier because croc meat only has 1 calorie in it per gram. If you’re concerned about its chew-ability, worry no more as it is perfectly tender and chewy. The fats are layered, too, so we did not have a hard time removing them.
The next one we had was a bolder take on our favorite breakfast–the Heart Smart Croc Tocino. Served with perfectly-done sunny side up, fried rice, and slices of cucumbers and tomatoes, it glistens with just the right amount of oil and it looks really inviting. In no time, we gave in and gave it a try. We fell in love with its tenderness and good taste – perfect for great mornings.
The Urban Croc Burger was even more amazing. The pattie is a bit crunchy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. It tastes so good, and perfectly complements the veggies, the dressing, the soft bun, and the fries that come with the burger. We really enjoyed everything about it.
Next, we tried one of The Urban Cafe’s bestsellers–the Dauntless Croc Sisig. This dish is not intimidating at all. It looks completely guilt-free and just the sight of it assured us that we were not going to get heart attacks after devouring the dish. It was such a relief, really. What made us even happier was the fact that, apart from being healthy, it is also a feast of flavors in the mouth. In fact, other patrons love eating it with wine.
And of course, we would never forget about pasta.
Before our food trip came to close, we made sure to order Pasta Arrabbiatta, which is served with Super Extra Jumbo Croc Sausage and two slices of bread. It is a pasta to die for since both the sauce and the sausage create a good combination.
After satisfying ourselves with sumptuous dishes, we had dessert.
We tried the Banana Toffee and the Chocolate Cake. Both of them have just the right level of sweetness.
They are perfect with coffee, too, specifically The Urban Cafe’s Java Chip and Hazel Mocha frappes, which do not turn watery even when left out for more than an hour. They also have just the right amount of sweetness, not overpowering the kick of caffeine.
We had a great time, really. We all went home full, happy, and guilt-free.
The Urban Cafe also serves pork and chicken dishes, by the way. They also have a cheese platter composed of imported cheese, which go well with wine. With all of these goodies, what more could we ask for? The Urban Cafe is another must-try place when in Manila.
