UP rises in QS world university rankings, still PH’s no. 1 university

UP Diliman OblationThe University of the Philippines climbed up in this year’s QS World University Rankings, the survey of the world’s best universities.

 

From 374 last year, UP was ranked 367th, still maintaining its status as the top university in the Philippines.

While UP improved its ranking this year, De La Salle University maintained its rank of 701-750. Meanwhile, two Philippine universities dropped in the ratings: Ateneo de Manila University is at 551-600, while University of Sto. Tomas is at 801-1000, from last year’s 501-550 and 701+, respectively.

The top university in the world is still the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States for the sixth straight year, while the top university in Asia is still Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, at 11th place.

This year’s QS World University Rankings surveyed 959 universities from 84 countries.
