UP MATH CLUB TO HOLD “THE 39th Annual Freshman Math Quiz”

The University of the Philippines Mathematics Club (UPMC) will be hosting “The 39th Annual Freshman Math Quiz,” an annual Mathematics competition for freshman college students. The competition was formerly exclusive to students from the University of the Philippines system but this year, it is open to all first year college and senior high school students from all schools nationwide.

The said event, which is endorsed by the Commision on Higher Education (CHEd), will be held on the 24th day of September in the University of the Philippines Diliman; Institute of Mathematics Building (elimination round) and in the Institute of Mathematics Annex Building auditorium (final round).

To tag along with the bragging rights for winning a nationwide Mathematics competition, the winners also get to take home the following prizes: 3rd place – P1000, 2nd place – P3000, and 1st place – P5000.

The coverage of the entire competition shall include Algebra (Linear, Vector, and Analytic), Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics and Probability, Logic, Number Theory, Elementary Calculus (Differential and Integral), and their applications. The registration fee for the event is P150.

Considering that the event is now a nationwide competition, it is only undeniable that the challenge won’t be easy. Everyone must have to battle their hearts out to be able to emerge as the winner. However, great rewards await whoever will triumph. More than anything, being held as the winner of the Freshman Math Quiz is a great honor for the contestant and the school represented.

Along with the success of every competition is a step forward to the realization of the dreams of every aspiring mathematician.
