UP Manila choirs unite in the 1st UP Manila Choral Festival this February

In celebration of National Arts Month, the UP Manila Chorale will host the 1st UP Manila Choral Festival (UPMCF) with the theme “OPM sa UPM!” this February 3-4, 2018The 1st UPMCF will consist of workshops, concerts, and fellowship activities with the goal of uniting and empowering choirs and choral music enthusiasts in the country’s premier institution for the health sciencesMore than a hundred UP Manila students from the diverse colleges of UP Manila will gather in one momentous event to celebrate the tradition of choral music in the Philippines.

The 1st UPMCF is the fifth in a series of events under Argentum, the year-long 25th anniversary of the University of the Philippines Manila Chorale, consisting of a series of concerts, health promotions, exhibits, festivals, and tours to promote harmony through music and innovation.

The University of the Philippines Manila Chorale is the multi-awarded official performing group for choral music of the University of the Philippines Manila, presently led by its music director, Emmanuel de Leon, Jr. The group aims to embody and represent the University locally and internationally through the art of choral music, serving as ambassadors of cultural goodwill by being the “Voice of UP Manila to the World.”
