The 20th Accountancy Students’ Seminar and Extra-Curricular Training (ASSET) is the most prestigious gathering of the top 50 penultimate and graduating accountancy students from all over the Philippines. In its 20th year, the University of the Philippines Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UP JPIA) introduces the grandest and most innovative ASSET in 2022 with the theme, “Beyond All Limits: Dare to be the ASSET.” This is a four-day nationwide training seminar to be held on December 3-4 & 10-11 which seeks to elevate accounting alongside business practices by shaping the delegates to become future leaders in the industry. ASSET’s major events include corporate roadshows, corporate talks, mixer, interview simulation, case competition, and quiz bee competition designed to provide delegates a more diverse and holistic learning experience.
ASSET will be conducted fully online for the third consecutive year to accommodate students from other regions while adapting to the pandemic and ensuring the safety of the delegates, organizers, and partners. UP JPIA believes that this crisis should not be allowed to hinder ASSET’s mission, rather, be used as the prime opportunity to prepare future nation-builders in the ever-shifting accounting industry. Now more than ever, ASSET’s role and relevance are highlighted as the current conditions have shifted the demands set by the industry.
Throughout the years, ASSET has been recognized as the Villar SIPAG League of Excellence Best Business Event, Best Local Chapter Activity in Academics of the National Federation of JPIA (NFJPIA) for 2015, and the Best Local Chapter Activity in Academics in both National and Regional (NCR) level of NFJPIA for 2016.
