The University of the Philippines Geodetic Engineering Club (UP GE Club), one of the oldest academic organizations in the UP Diliman College of Engineering, is set to mark its 88th Anniversary this October with a two-week celebration filled with impactful, creative, and community-driven events. With the theme “Aquarelliste: Map the future of geospatial innovation with geomatics expertise and visionary solutions,” the celebration aims to honor the club’s rich history while embracing the ever-evolving future of geospatial science and geomatics engineering.
Since its founding in 1937, the UP GE Club has remained committed to promoting excellence, leadership, and innovation in the field of Geodetic Engineering. The 88th Anniversary lineup reflects these values through a diverse range of events that cater not only to GE students and professionals but also to the wider university community and the public.
The festivities begin on October 11 with Eclissia, an outreach program that underscores the club’s dedication to service and social responsibility. This is followed by Elantra on October 12, a sportsfest designed to foster camaraderie, teamwork, and physical wellness. From October 13 to 17, the spotlight shifts to Vitrosa, a week-long exhibit showcasing the creativity, innovation, and technical excellence of GE students.
On October 18, the club will hold Intellea x Illustria, a unique combination of a geospatial quiz bee (Geoid Quiz) and an art competition (Earthistic) that brings together intellect and imagination. The celebration will culminate in Étoile, the highly anticipated anniversary night on October 25, where members, alumni, and partners will come together to honor the organization’s enduring legacy of service and excellence.
