UP Cineastes’ Studio Holds Rerun of CineFilipino Film Festival 2016

For those who missed its first run in late March, the CineFilipino Film Festival 2016 will be back on the big screen this April 18-23, 2016, at the UP Cine Adarna. In line with the goal of exploring Filipino identity and culture through cinematic art, the UP Cineastes’ Studio, Unitel Productions, and the UP Film Institute altogether set the stage for the rerun so that students, teachers, and other film enthusiasts could enjoy and learn from the various films.

The CineFilipino Film Festival has always aimed to support and develop new audience-friendly works of artistic merit by up-and-coming and established filmmakers. Some of this year’s award-winning film entries include Ned’s Project, Sakaling Hindi Makarating and Star Na Si Van Damme Stallone, all which define the human experience through different Filipino perspectives.

This year’s festival was deemed a “resounding success which surpassed expectations” due to its addition of more genres and categories, reaching a larger audience. Its rerun at UP Diliman may expand this audience even further, and evoke social and cultural consciousness among the viewers.

The screening includes not just feature-length films, but also shorts and documentaries. Tickets are worth P120 for students and P150 for non-students.
