The Philippine audience is in for a one-of-a-kind, bizarre, and unique cinematic experience as KhavnDela Cruz, coined as the Father of Philippine Digital Cinema, brings his punk-noir love story on the 28th of August, 7pm at the UP Cine Adarna in Diliman, Quezon City.
After garnering a multitude of praise from the international film festival circuit, the film will finally be presented to the Filipino audience in a one-time exclusive screening presented by the U.P. Cineastes’ Studio, to be followed with a punk gig right after.
Ruined Heart is tagged with the synopsis, “When violence is the only life you know, will love save you or just unravel everything?”
Shot by Christopher Doyle in glorious ‘Filipino-scope’ and ‘Techni-kulay’, Ruined Heart stars Japanese icon Tadanobu Asano along with femme fatales, Elena Kazan and Nathalia Acevedo in Dela Cruz’s signature unorthodox method of film presentation.
This exclusive screening produced by Kamias Underground and Rapid Eye Movies gives Filipinos the chance to finally witness the movie that took Chicago, Berlin, and Tokyo by storm.
A breakthrough tour de force that drove critics to venerate the film as “…radical in form and unimpressed by any convention”, the Philippine premiere of Ruined Heart will be screened for only Php 200. This includes entry to the screening itself and to the gig afterwards.
