Unique Grief Program For Kids

When In Manila resilient hearts

Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Resilient Hearts, August 3, 2019 – Resilient Hearts is a program for children who have experienced the death of a parent, guardian, or sibling on Saturday, August 3 from 8:30 am-5:00 pm at VentureSpace PH (724 Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong, 1552 Metro Manila).

Resilient Hearts is a unique program that provides children who have experienced the death of a parent, guardian, or sibling, a safe place to grieve, connect, and heal. Children are matched 1:1 with adult volunteers who are there to support that child throughout the program. The participants are broken down into small, age-appropriate Support Circles that are lead by licensed mental health professionals. In the groups, kids have the opportunity to share their story of loss, connect with same-aged peers who have had a similar experience, and learn healthy coping skills.

The inaugural program is limited to only 14 campers ages 7-12 years old. In the future, the program plans to expand to include kids up to age 17. The cost of Resilient Hearts is 3000 php per child. Discounts are available for those families with multiple children who will attend. There are also some full scholarships available from generous sponsors for children to attend who cannot afford the program fee.

Resilient Hearts is hosted by ListenHere, a social startup dedicated to eliminating the stigma of mental health in the Philippines by connecting people both in-person and virtually with mental health support services.
