The clothing brand had previously been doubting of creating face masks. However, one of its spokespersons said it changed its mind after receiving many requests from customers.

Information regarding the price and launch dates of the face masks will be made available later on, she said on Monday (May 25).

According to Uniqlo, the Airism underwear sports a specially-developed fabric known for a smooth, silky feel. The brand says the fabric also keeps the wearer cool in the summer months by releasing moisture and heat.

There is a shortage in supply of face masks in Japan and in most parts of the world mainly due to the COVID-19 outbreak sweeping the entire globe. Therefore, many companies have decided to make them.
