One of the most sought after local distilleries, Destileria Barako has been coming up with unique filipino premium hand crafted spirits.
Unveiled during Independence Day 2021, Destileria Barako’s Ube Cream Liqueur roots from the Philippines’ cultural heritage. Since Filipino’s love food, Ube is just a fitting flavour for this new liqueur.
Creator Kalel Demetrio is no stranger to unique drinks and recipes and he shares that Ube has always been a part of his childhood.
“Ube has been always part of my childhood and every Filipinoes, it always relates to happy memories, from the Fiesta in Tondo and every province we visited there’s always UBE which is for me one of the main event in every dining episode in Fiestas. It was a natural catalyst for me growing in the industry to relieve those happy memories through different concoction in all my concepts here in the Philippines as a consultant and beverage director”, shared Kalel.
This Ube Cream Liqueur is made with local sugarcane vodka from Negros perfectly blended with local ube.
“It was dream for me to let everyone experience this indigenous root crop with the best purple color to be globally available through my creation and I am fortune enough to be in a team who believes and doesn’t know the word impossible with Destileria Barako when i presented the idea and concocted the initial profile my to partner Tyson Branz it was love at 1st taste for him”, Kalel added.
The Ube Cream Liqueur won a Double Gold and Philippines first product Innovation award at the SIP Awards in California 2021. It is available at Agimat at Ugat for pick-up or online through Boozy.ph, Lazada, GrabMart and Liquor.ph.
