We’ve found the next Filipina supermodel: Maureen Wroblewitz, the half-Filipina, half-German beauty has just become the first Pinoy winner of the fifth season of Asia’s Next Top Model. It’s not surprising considering she has many fans on social media. Now, she has one more fan in the form of Tyra Banks, legendary supermodel and creator of the Next Top Model franchise.

When Wroblewitz posted her first magazine cover for Nylon Singapore on Instagram, Banks commented with “Pinoy Queen! Mama TyTy is so proud of you!”
This is not the first time Banks has expressed admiration for Filipino talent. Banks has promoted Michael Cinco on America’s Next Top Model and has worn many of his creations. She has also featured a local clothing brand in another episode. In 2014, she followed Kim Chiu, Anne Curtis, and Georgina Wilson on Instagram. When Paolo Ballesteros did a makeup transformation where he turned himself to Banks, she shared the photos and said, “I think he did a great job of looking like me.”
As part of Wroblewitz’s win in Asia’s Next Top Model, she will sign a contract for Storm Model Management, the same agency that handles Alexa Chung, Behati Prinsloo, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, and other high-profile names in fashion.
