According to a 24 Oras report by Chino Gaston on April 13, Monday, the three men residing in Baseco Compound made their own liquor using coffee, vinegar, and soft drinks, but eventually added paint thinner into the mix.

Kilala po dito talaga silang manginginom, e. Walang oras, walang araw po (They’re really known here as alcohol drinkers. Every hour, every day),” said one of the victim’s sister.

Two were found unconscious and foaming at the mouth the day after drinking the mixture and did not make it alive. The third victim is currently hospitalized at the Philippine General Hospital.
