Election season is running high, and Filipinos are scrambling to pick the politicians they’re electing into higher office. The politicians are scrambling, too, by filing their certificates of candidacy and gathering support from influential people. It turns out, some politicians are sneakier than others when it comes to gathering support.
Rock star Chito Miranda revealed today that he was offered two million pesos to tweet an endorsement of a presidential bet. He did not name the politician, saying the agency refused to tell him until he agreed, but he refused the offer. He said that he will choose to endorse Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago or Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, free of charge.
To date, the tweet 4,366 retweets and 6,817 favorites on Twitter.
Jokingly, Miranda offered support to presidential hopefuls Archangel Lucifer, a self-proclaimed intergalactic space ambassador, and Daniel Magtira, who claims to be Kris Aquino’s husband.
