Ever since I’ve been to Thailand, I’ve been obsessed with fruit tea. Sweets are my guilty pleasure, but this refreshing beverage is an exemption because of its healthy components like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and so much more. So, when I discovered True Boss, I knew I struck gold.
True Boss is a Taiwanese franchise with the sole mandate of serving healthier drinks—be it milk tea, fruit tea, and revolutionary fruit enzymes. I tried the majority of their drinks (nine, to be exact) and I have to say that fruit enzymes are officially my new favorite now.
Fruit Enzyme with Basil Seed
CJ Enriquez, the owner of True Boss Philippines, shares that she chose to franchise the brand because she wanted to offer something new to the Filipino market – a specialty drink store that offers something that others in the Metro don’t: health benefits.
To emphasize on this, she let us try True Boss’ specialty fruit enzymes. In a nutshell, it’s a mixture of fruits that undergo a fermentation process. It becomes a concentrated additive that’s used as a base You, then add your flavor of choice to the juice for a fruitier mix!

We tried the Fruit Enzyme with Basil Seeds (Cranberry base), and it was so good. I am fond of anything sour, and this drink was definitely that. At first sip, you’ll get a bit of a kick from the acidity of the enzymes; but after a while, you’ll find yourself enjoying it to the last drop.
CJ points out that fruit enzyme variants have a lot of benefits. They have digestive properties that help cleanse your body and can even shed some pounds! Furthermore, fruit enzymes are a good source of Vitamin C. It’s the ultimate drink for fruit lovers and fitness enthusiasts looking for a healthy beverage!Â
Aside from the Fruit Enzymes, the Fruit Teas are must-tries, too. You can choose your tea base: Black, Green, Oolong, and Alpine.

The Strawberry and Green Tea and Kiwi and Green Tea are good fruit-tea combinations. What I like about them the most is that the tea flavor is pronounced. It gives a nice bitterness that complements the fruity notes well.
You can elevate your fruit tea experience by adding a True Boss specialty, too: their Cheese Milk Foam. Unlike the typical cream cheese topping, this one is incredibly light and airy.It makes for an amazing add-on to your fruit tea without the heavy (and guilty) feeling!Â

My favorite is the Fruit Tea with Cheese Milk Foam – Alpine Tea and Mango Topping. I kid you not when I say that it’s like a liquified version of a Mango Bravo! You can also go for the Fruit Tea with Cheese Milk Foam – Green Tea and Kiwi Topping.
Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with Pearl (P130)
For milk lovers, they have two types: The Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with Pearl (P130) and the Fresh Milk Tea variants. The rise of Brown Sugar Fresh Milk is all the hype right now, and True Boss is a contender in that field. You’ll enjoy this creamy drink even more after knowing that they use sugar cane for their Brown Sugar. This is basically a healthier alternative to your favorite drink!
As for the Milk Tea variants, you can pick the base tea as desired (Green, Black, Oolong, and Alpine). Like the Fruit Tea, you’ll appreciate this if you’re a true milk tea lover because of its profound taste. You’ll see the difference once you try it. I have to say that their pearls are some of the best, too, because of their chewiness and their right amount of sweetness.

Lastly – and this might not be for everyone – if you’re looking for something new, I highly recommend the Sparkling Drink. It’s an incredibly healthy drink that is like apple cider fizz. You can choose among the flavors Plum, Cranberry, Apple, Grape, and Peach. The bottle container is recyclable, by the way!
True Boss proves that you can satisfy your cravings in a healthier way. Whatever drink you’re looking for, a better alternative is just an order away!
