Angat Buhay is set to honor the life and legacy of late illustrator Robert Alejandro with a tribute exhibit.
On December 5, the non-governmental organization announced the โHip-Hip-Hoo-RAAโ exhibit opening at the Museo ng Pag-asa. The tribute exhibit will serve as a personal and creative space that shares a glimpse โinto the heart of his creative process.โ
โSamahan niyo kami (Join us) in this special opportunity to honor his journey as an artist, storyteller, and advocate for creativity and social good. You may also bring your Robert Alejandro-inspired artworks and share them with us!โ the non-government organization captioned their post.
On November 5, the renowned illustrator passed away, which was announced by the family-run gift shop across their social media pages.
โAlthough the sorrow is great, we also want to celebrate his life, the many wonderful accomplishments and causes he championed unselfishly,โ it wrote.
Apart from being Papemelrotiโs co-founder, the creative visionary and art advocate initiated free workshops for kids through Facebook Live during the pandemic. He also volunteered his illustrations for former Vice President Leni Robredoโs 2022 presidential campaign.
โHis generosity knew no bounds, as demonstrated during the pandemic when he offered free online art workshops, bringing joy to countless children. Robertโs dedication to Angat Buhayโs mission and the communities he touched will remain an enduring legacy,โ Angat Buhay wrote in a heartfelt post after his passing.
โThank you, Robert, for your incredible light and unwavering belief in the power of art to transform lives. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten,โ it added.
The museum and exhibit will be open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, every Wednesday to Sunday, starting December 7.
