ToyCon PH Celebrates its 11th

ToyCon PH 2012: Probably the Biggest This Year

When in Manila, you should definitely be on the lookout for toy sales!

ToyCon PH, or the Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention, brings together hundreds, if not thousands, of fans in Megatrade Hall to get the best out of their bargain hunting experience. Knowing that the annual event will be held from June 15 to 17 this year, my friends and I go to Megamall on the 16th before lunch time. We delight ourselves with the overwhelming number of stalls and brand new toys that are probably about 15-30% cheaper than the ones sold in retail stores. With the opportunity to find the best deals, we know that the Php100 entrance ticket is going to be well worth it!

Hundreds check out every booth to find their favorite toys and action figures. Beautiful action figures and figurines of the obscure and the well-loved characters from various Japanese anime, live action films, and manga, as well as those living in the DC and Marvel universes, litter the booth tables. Even Charlie Brown and Care Bear plushies and John Cena action figures are being sold.

A bunch of well-dressed cosplayers also attend the even to join the cosplay competition. They come to dress as their favorite TV or Movie characters. Even R2D2 graces the event!

While original Gundam toys sell for as much as Php10,000, the life-size Superman and Wonderwoman statues sell for Php15,000 each. The incredibly detailed displays in the Maxicollector exhibit cost a lot with the Captain America figure being sold for a little bit over Php8,000!

So When in Manila, be always on the lookout for the latest toy sales in the Metro! Otherwise, you may miss the ToyCon next year! Want in on the latest information about the Philippine’s premier toy convention authority? Visit ToyCon PH on Facebook and like their page!
