Total Number of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in the Philippines Hit 10,000

As of May 6, Wednesday, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has reached the 10,000 mark.

The Department of Health confirmed today 320 new cases, bringing the total to 10,004.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries has more than doubled the number of deaths, totaling to 1,506 and 658 respectively.

The number of health care workers testing positive for the disease has also risen to 1,859, with 40 new cases and 30 recoveries. The DOH noted that the number of infected health care workers has been dropping since April 11 which they attributed to the proper use of personal protective equipment.
