Tony Bennett Passes Away

Legendary singer Tony Bennett passed away on July 21, 2023. He was 96 years old.

A statement was posted on his social media accounts, which read, “Tony left us today but he was still singing the other day at his piano and his last song was, ‘Because of You,’ his first #1 hit.”

It added, “Tony, because of you we have your songs in our heart forever.”

The post is accompanied by a photo of the singer during his younger years.

Bennett’s death was confirmed by his publicist, Sylvia Weiner. There was no cause stated, but she told The Associated Press that he died in his hometown of New York.

The singer is known for his hits “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” “The Good Life,” and “Rags to Riches.” Throughout his career, he has released 61 studio albums, two of which were with Lady Gaga, called Cheek to Cheek and Love For Sale.

Bennett is a recipient of multiple awards, including 20 Grammys.
