According to a report by ABS-CBN, the mayor paid a visit to the vendors over the weekend to inform them of the end of their contract to sell within the park and that they must take their business elsewhere. The vendors were said to have obediently obliged.

Currently, the steel structure that once housed the tiangge is being dismantled and will soon provide a freer space for visitors to take a leisurely stroll around the area.

This is was done to make way for the renovation and beautification of the park.
