This portrait has been going around online which shows 15 people from Philippine film, TV & even politics who were greatly influential and have lead meaningful lives and contributed to the Philippine heritage in their own fields. It seems that they are riding a Jeepney and it is being steered by Jesus Christ.

In front it shows Redford White & Babalu, who were iconic comedians back in the 70’s-90’s. Many remember them for their team up in various shows and film. Redford White rose to stardom in the hit Iskul Bukol in the 70’s

On the left is Da King, FPJ or Fernando Poe Jr. who is now delcared a national artist of Film. Among his roles were Flavio in the mythical Ang Panday series, Kahit Konting PagtinginDito sa Pitong Gatang and Aguila. His last movie was Pakners which also stars 9-ball billiards champion Efren “Bata” Reyes.

The Comedy King Dolphy who is a big part of my childhood with his hit series Home Along da Riles together with his family and John En Marsha. He also played gay roles (Ang Tatay kong Nanay) and he was amazing at it! His comical attributes will resonate to the generations ahead.

Rudy Fernandez also known as Daboy, was a multi-awarded Filipino actor and producer. He came to prominence as an action star in the Philippine cinema during the 1980s up to the early 1990s.

Did you know that Nida Blanca starred in over 163 movies and 14 television shows and received over 16 awards for movies and six awards for television during her 50-year film career one of with Pidol himself in the show John En Marsha.

I remember Bella Flores’ talented portrayal of antagonists during her film reign. She was best known for her “iconic” portrayals of film villains.Known as the original Primera Kontrabida in the Philippine Showbiz.

Rico Yan, who was the Daniel Padilla of our time. I remember gushing over his love team with Claudine Barreto. Did you know that he was discovered while falling in line in one of the fast food in his school De La Salle University when a talent scout asked him if he wanted to be a commercial model? Pretty cool. He also starred in Madrasta, Gimik, Mula sa Puso, Mara Clara, Gimik and Got 2 Believe.

Ninoy Aquino, the catalyst of a modern Philippine revolution against the then tyrant dictator Ferdinand Marcos will always be instilled in our hearts as the man who sacrificed himself for this country’s freedom. Beside him on the portrait is his wife Cory Aquino who became president after the Marcos regime.

Mark Gil was often cast as a main villain to Bong Revilla, Jr, Ronnie Ricketts, Robin Padilla aside from his acting career, he fathers today’s talented actors and actresses like Sid Lucero and Andi Eigenmann.

Francis Magalona, would ultimately be cited not just the “King of Philippine rap” but also “The Father of Pinoy Hip Hop.” His contributions to Filipino OPM formed a legacy and has brought great honor. Everyone knows the lyrics to his song Kaleidoscope

What a beautiful portrait. May their legacy live on.
