Fuel prices change often, and many drivers simply pull into the nearest station without knowing if there’s a cheaper option nearby. GasWatchPH, a new browser-based fuel price tracker created by creative designer and UI/UX practitioner Kat Adrias, allows users to compare gas prices across stations in Metro Manila. The site works directly in your browser—no app download or sign-up required.
Users can view a map of nearby stations, compare prices across brands, and even submit fuel price updates from their area.

From frustration to building a solution
For Adrias, the idea came from a problem most drivers face: not knowing if they were getting a good deal at the pump.
“It came from a place of frustration, and I don’t want to sound cliche saying that, but it really did,” she tells WhenInManila.com.
One morning, she decided to build something that could help. She spent the day coding and designing, and by the end of it, GasWatchPH was live. The platform is intentionally simple: a color-coded map shows prices by station, along with tools that allow users to compare brands and locations side by side. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices are included for common tank sizes.
“I wanted something simple that just… tells you where the cheaper gas is,” Adrias says.
The site is designed to be practical and accessible. Adrias emphasizes that it’s not meant to be complicated or flashy, just a quick way for drivers to see where they can save on fuel.
Community-powered updates
A key aspect of GasWatchPH is that it relies on drivers themselves to report prices. These submissions make the platform more accurate than weekly government advisories alone.
“The DOE releases weekly price advisories, but actual pump prices shift in between, and the only way to keep it accurate in real time is if fellow Filipinos report what they’re actually seeing at the pump. That bayanihan spirit is what makes it work. One person submits a price in Marikina, and suddenly everyone in that area benefits,” Adrias shares.
“I really want this to grow into a community-based network, not just a website someone visits once.”
By encouraging community participation, GasWatchPH becomes a shared resource where drivers help each other make informed choices.
What’s next for this initiative?
While the site currently focuses on Metro Manila, Adrias hopes to expand coverage to other cities. She is also exploring ways to make reporting and editing prices even easier, so submitting updates is almost effortless.
“I want it to expand beyond Metro Manila and reach more cities, because the gas price problem isn’t just a metro issue. I also want to make the reporting and editing side even easier, like almost zero friction to submit a price update, so more people actually do it,” she shares.
“Maybe alerts when prices drop in your area. The goal is for it to feel less like a tool and more like a community that looks out for each other.”
Drivers can explore the platform at https://gaswatchph.com/ to check fuel prices in their area and contribute updates to help fellow drivers.
