This Mobile App Shows You How Much Sugar is in a Drink Just By Scanning the Barcode

Ever wanted to make healthier decisions when it came to consuming drinks on the daily? This Japanese man has finally made it easier for us to do so by inventing a mobile app that gives a visual display of how much sugar is contained in any type of beverage!

Daiki Shimizu shared his innovation on Twitter with a video showing how to use it. All you have to do is scan the barcode of the drink and an estimate of its sugar level automatically pops up.

It also shows you how much sugar cubes it’s equivalent to so you can easily assess whether it’s already beyond the recommended daily sugar intake or not.

Ever since Shimizu shared his product, many have been clamoring for its name and where to download it. Because of this, Shimizu has decided to make it available starting August 16 via the iPhone app store.

As it is a Japanese app, it may not work with drinks purchased outside of Japan. But it’s definitely going to come in handy when watching your health during your future trips there!
