Sotto is said to be the first international prospect in the G League select team.
The young athlete has made history as the first Jr. NBA Philippines alumnus to play in the G League. He skipped on offers to play for NCAA Division 1 schools and even for Euro-based clubs.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim, G League President, took a chance with Sotto. He feels that the 7’2″ basketball player can go all the way to the NBA.
“We wanna make sure we try to identify players on track to be in the NBA… I think Kai can reach all those areas,” he said on Thursday.
The basketball executive didn’t reveal the figures of Sotto and the other prospects’ contracts with the league.
