This Girl Broke the Guinness World Record for Greatest ‘Cardcaptor Sakura’ Collection

Guinness World Records has always been our go-to source for discovering impressive feats around the world. Sometimes, it takes a lot of planning to be able to break a record. Other times, especially for big names in the entertainment industry, it just happens. But there are those who end up breaking a record for simply collecting something they love.

Japanese Cosplayer Natsumi Shirahoshi is one such person for having received recognition from the organization for owning the greatest Cardcaptor Sakura collection ever seen, with “1,709 distinct pieces of merchandise based on the magical franchise” according to a report by SoraNews24.

Natsumi took to Twitter to announce her feat and to also pay respect to the previous record-holder, Sofia Pichihua of Peru, who had collected around 1,000 pieces.

Natsumi also shared how she fell in love with Cardcaptor Sakura when she was a young girl—going to events related to the franchise, spending her pocket money on collectibles, and taking pleasure in Sakura’s different magical outfits throughout the series.

“I cannot measure how much I learned about compassion, courage, and dreams from Cardcaptor Sakura,” Natsumi said in her Tweet. “I’m proud that I could get a Guinness World Record with my memories of Sakura-chan, even if it’s just for a time.”
