This Discount Store Is Accepting Onions as Payment and the Promo Is Totally Real

On February 4, 2023, the Panay branch of Japan Home Centre will be accepting onions as payment. The mechanics are simple: one onion is the equivalent of one Japan Home Centre item.

According to the discount store, “Japan Home Centre – Panay Avenue will accept an onion in exchange for your chosen product. Every customer has a limit of 3 item purchases only.”

It’s a promo for a cause, too. All collected onions will be used in their community pantry.

The Panay branch of Japan Home Centre is located at 84 Panay Avenue, Quezon City, near Victoria Towers.
