This Company Gave its Staff Half a Day Off to Watch the Game of Thrones Season Premiere

Since only US president Barack Obama can watch Game of Thrones in advance, all of us will have to wait for season six’s premiere on April 24, 2016. And for fans in the UK, they will have to wait until 2AM on April 25 just to catch it live.

To give way to GoT fans, UK-based creative technology company, +rehabstudio is giving its employees in the UK half the day off on April 25 so they can watch the premiere in the early morning.

The company has posted its holiday policy on Facebook, which reads:

All +rehabstudio UK staff (London and Belfast offices) will also receive an additional half day (morning) holiday following the first episode of each new season of ‘Game of Thrones’ when simulaunched with the U.S.

The policy also states that US-based employees are not allowed to post spoilers on its intranet for UK-based employees who will catch the repeat airing on the 25th at 9PM.

Following this news, a spokesperson revealed that applications have spiked dramatically.

Tim Rodgers, +rehabstudio’s co-founder told Mashable that the perk could also apply to other shows like The Walking Dead.
