This city now has highest COVID-19 cases and it’s not QC, not even in Luzon

Quezon City used to be the titleholder when it came to the most number of reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

However, on Sunday, Cebu City surpassed Quezon City as it reported a total of 1,571 COVID-19.

Cebu City has 97 new cases on Sunday, according to the Cebu City Health Department (CHD).

On the other hand, Quezon City now has a total of 1,558 cases after it logged 35 new cases on Sunday, according to the Department of Health’s (DOH) online tracker.

One new death in Cebu City was reported on Sunday, putting its death toll to 12.

This is no contest though because the main goal is to contain the spread of the new coronavirus and hopefully eradicate it, which is why we are social distancing and staying at home as much as possible.

There are many factors involved in Cebu City recording more positive cases and it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a bad thing. It is also possible that the city is simply doing more testing compared to other cities. As of May 7, Cebu City has conducted over 10, 376 tests.

With the current situation, mass testing is the best key to help in our fight against COVID-19.
