God bless the internet and social media.
Facebook Live has really taken off and become a standout feature all on its own since it was first introduced. And anyone who’s done Facebook Live and tried to watch the live stream at the same time knows that there is a short delay in the feed.
The band The Academic, however, decided to make things more interesting by incorporating the feed delays into their live video by creating a loop out of their song, “Bear Claws”. What happens is that the band performance for a Facebook Live feed, with the previous playing on the projector behind them, as they gradually add more instruments and complex sounds as they sync up to perform with the delayed feed at the same time.
As the band explains on Youtube:
“We rearranged each instrument on “Bear Claws” to fit Facebook Live’s delay, with each loop getting more complex, adding instruments, rhythms, and melodies. Additionally, by projecting the video live from a soundstage we created an infinite tunnel consisting of all the previously recorded loops.”
Watch to appreciate!
