According to Variety.com, there is an eight-episode series being produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. The show will be based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild” by Leif Reigstad.
The series centers on Joe Shreibvogel a.k.a Joe Exotic, a zookeeper in Oklahoma. It is described as, “an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park — even at the risk of losing his sanity.” It will explore how Joe Exotic’s character was born, and how he lost himself to a character of his own creation.
