This 15-Year-Old Busker Could Be The Next Ed Sheeran

Before our favorite redheaded singer-songwriter was playing to sold-out stadiums worldwide and racking up millions in album sales, he was a kid with a guitar and a dream, busking on streets all over the UK as people passed by.

And now this video of a 15-year-old boy named Alfie Sheard busking in the town of Doncaster in England is making the rounds, and we can’t help but get some serious deja vu vibes.

Alfie Sheard regularly plays on the streets of England, and the 15-year-old sings, writes songs, and plays his guitar on his Youtube channel as well. The kid is clearly talented, making beautiful music as he strums on his guitar, and safe to say, I think he’s going places.

It came as no surprise then, when Ellen invited Alfie to play on her show. According to Alfie, his guitar-playing was mostly self-taught, and the singing just came afterward. Looks like he was he was really born to play!

Although it’s evident that Alfie wants to become a musician when he grows up, it was his answer when Ellen asked him about his ultimate goal that really tugged at the heartstrings. The young singer-songwriter replied:

“My ultimate goal is to come in one day and say, ‘Hey mum, you don’t have to work anymore, I’ll take care of you.”

Such a talented kid with a big heart!

Of course, Ellen couldn’t let Alfie miss out on the opportunity to interact with his idol, Ed Sheeran, in some way. The “Shape Of You” singer did him one better, however, and surprised Alfie by giving him one of his guitars:

“Hey Alfie! Well done for just being amazing, and playing all the time. I have heard your stuff and everyone has been very, very complimentary about it as well. And I wanted to take this opportunity to give you one of my guitars. The only way that I’m giving you this guitar if you play it every day.”

Not long after his appearance on the “Ellen” show, it seems that Alfie is doing better than ever, back on the streets with some new equipment. Here he is covering “Shape Of You”.

We’re calling it: he’s going to be big someday.
